Interbase

by Nov 3, 2020

Hello

With ADS I can create (or open) a Interbase Database but then I cannot Create ord Alter a table. What ever I do I become an Error -104. The simplest SQL go fail, every time.

With IBConsole I have to a problem, all works fine, with teh sama dbs.

Any Idea what can be my problem?

Hello Roger,

I just gave this a try with InterBase 2017 and Aqua Data Studio V20.6 and queries were executing correctly. A couple quick questions. Which ADS version are you using? Which InterBase version do you have? Can you provide an ADS screenshot of your query and the failure?

Thanks,

Tom

Hello Tom

Thanks for your interes. I have tried with Version 20.5 and Version 20.6. InterBase I have the newest Version was comes wit RAD Studio Enterprise, Version 14.1.

Hi Roger,

I think it is having a problem with the double quotes. As a quick test, try removing the quotes and executing the ddl. I believe the quotes will work or not work depending on the way the dialect is set in InterBase. For example, my InterBase dialect is set to 3 and I was able to execute your ddl with the quotes.

Thanks,

Tom

Great, many thanks Tom.

Only – I can see and change the dialect in IB Console but not in ADS, the db created in ADS have dialect 1. Is a way to change it in ADS too? (By creating the db or after by using)?

Hi Roger,

The dialect is within the database and so can only be changed using the IB Console for that database. You will not be able to change it from ADS.

Hope that helps,

Tom
