First time doing the notarization and I'm a bit confused. I followed these directions exactly: http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/Rio/en/MacOS_Notarization
The App compiles, deploys and runs but I don't see any feedback about the notarization process. Is there a file sent from Apple? How do I find the ticket?
I'm using MAC OS High Sierra version 10.13.6
If you don't see any feedback, you probably didn't select the correct configuration option:
If everything is configured correctly, your "Compile" dialog and the "Messages" panel should provide some feedback on the notarization process. Note, however, that:
1. macOS 10.13.6 is not the only requirement. Check this document: "Notarization requires Xcode 10 or later. Building a new app for notarization requires macOS 10.13.6 or later. Stapling an app requires macOS 10.12 or later."
2. Like many macOS-related things in Delphi, the built-in notarization tool is buggy. If it eventually works for you -- fine, but if it doesn't, or you need some degree of customization, read Customizing the Notarization Workflow and create your own command-line tool or GUI app. I spent a couple of days on a GUI app and never regretted:
Thank you for this very helpful response. I did need to upgrade XCode and as you noted the configuration must also be selected in addition to specifying on the provisioning screen. It now appears to have converted the plist to binary, signed and zipped. But I'm still not getting any indication of notarization status or messages. Next, I'll try using XCode directly instead of through the IDE
Ok...I just received an email from Apple that my notarization was successful! So, it does work through the IDE but not in the way expected. Thanks again
