I have ported my project to Rio and have finally got it compiling and running to MacOS-64 bit. However I am finding a few issues when running in debug (Mac 64 bit only). When the program halts at a break-point I often get strange results interrogating string variable values and after a few seconds I get a hang (interrogating any variable value). This seems to happen with both tool tip and watch list. After a time-out period I get the following
Has this happened to anyone else and has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be causing it? Any help greatly appreciated.
You are not alone:) The macOS 64-bit debugger is a total disaster. It's so bad I just regularly use WriteLn() instead of breakpoints. And it cannot evaluate any complex objects, e.g. if you hover the cursor over a variable of type, say, TEdit, you'll see zero information about your class instance. Not even the name.
It does not even debug at all for me, it does not stop at any breakpoint. I heard that part of the paserver is still 32 biut. How did you manage to debug it in that case?
I debug on macOS Mojave, where it works. On Catalina -- yes, it doesn't stop at breakpoints.
