I just updated my mac to 10.15 Catalina, and paserver is not working anymore. It just dont start. Anybody knows whats going on?
Catalina is the 1st version of OSX to remove all support for 32bit apps. You are likely trying to run the 32bit version of PAServer, you need to run the 64bit version instead.
Where can it be found ?
I confirm that PAserver also does not work. Try running PAServermanager instead. Works for me for whatever reason.
I have the same problem. The problem is that in Paserver 20.0 (even in the last update) the debugger (dbkosx_26, see systemreport) on the mac side (see paserver.app-package) is still 32-bit, which is a clear fault by Embarcadero. I reported this to embarcadero and got the answer to wait for the next update of rio or to ask for the new beta-version of rio.
This is a strange answer for me. I paid for support and quality software not some kind of banana. This simple thing should be tested before going to the user. The funny thing is, if you use Paservermanager things seem to go ok, but not for debugging. If you try 'release-version'-compile on pc-side you will get also an error saying debugging is not allowed, despite that the software on the mac-side starts correct (for IOS-app).
Embarcadero demands me to ask for a beta-version from the sales-dep. Instead of that I will not prolong my licence and go back to xcode on the mac, also because i found too much problems with this embarcadero-concept of multiplatform solutions.
Isn't it possible to give the new paserver-version generally to the users in such a case?
Got PAServer20 running on MacOS 10.15 the following way:- use 'Finder' and go to 'Applications'- right mouse button click on 'PAServer-20.0'- select 'Show Package Contents'- open 'Contents', then 'MacOS'- open 'paserver'
Certainly interesting, but: If you choose build-configuration DEBUG on PC nothing happens on mac-side. Only if you choose RELEASE. Debugging is not possible. If you give "v - verbose" in the paserver-terminal you see the generated commands: dbkos software is called, but nothing happens. Sorry, that's the problem. ... and no help by embarcadero-support!
The solution is to use the PAServerManager-app. Add a server, start the server and you up and running.
Yes you are right. But, have you tested the DEBUG-Switch? In my case i saw only errors.
No debugging ist possible. This makes developement senseless.
And tried to stop the server? The next problem arises.
Debugging works fine for me, no problem here...
This would help me very much. Are you really working under catalina 10.15? When i use the PAServemanger an set a break stop in Delphi nothing happens. As i wrote the debugger is 32bit (see mac system report). Did you get any update of PAServer?
That is in my opinion a joke. Embarcadero had time enough to test with the catalina beta before releasing 10.3.2, but they did not, and now macOS development is completely screwed!
