I've recently taken over maintaining a Legacy application that uses Delphi. More specifically it uses the deprecated Sockets Namespace. I'm currently using Delphi 10.3 and have looked at the help provided here: http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/Rio/en/Installing_Socket_Components . However, dclsockets260.bpl does not exist under the /bin directory. I have been unable to find anywhere that this file is available from install from Embarcadero.
Some of the other Delphi applications that I'm maintaining use inetwinsockets. Is this a suitable alternative or should I be trying to get dclsockets working instead?
Perhaps they finally decided to remove the dclsockets package altogether? Who knows, you would have to ask Embarcadero. That package has been deprecated for a long time.
dclsockets260.bpl *does* exist in my D10.3.3 Community Edition installation.
I figured out the issue. Looks like the Sockets namespace was being used in Web.Win.Sockets. I was not including the source file correctly like I had thought. Fixing the library path corrected the problem.
