Hi,I'm getting the following message displayed when I try to install Rad Studio 104 either via the Web Install or using the ISO. I would be grateful for any help.Unable to execute file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\Studio\21.0\bds.exe CreateProcess failed; code 2. The system cannot find the file specified.I have tried uninstalling the previous instance of RAD Studio and clearing residual entries from my PATH variable to no avail.Kind regards, Stefan
I just confirmed this is an issue, after trying to install on a new laptop with factory installed windows 10, I get the same issue, setting mode to administrator does not work after repeated installations, I am going to test with the full ISO install. Hopefully this is only a web installer issue, which I decided to try as the full ISO installer is large to download. The bds.exe is not present in the destination folder at all. I have also submitted a support request to Embarcadero as I have a subscription. I will post back here if I find a resolution.
No luck with the ISO file either
Can't believe it, but the 10.4.1 update has exactly the same installation problem - cannot find bds.exe. Have finally installed it using the method I used with 10.4 - see above. What a pain, thanks Embarcadero!
Same here. The installation of 10.4.1 failed on my notebook!!!
Again I activated the default user account, activation via cmd: net user administrator /active:yes. Signed in to this account, then the installer worked without any problem. Now I just switched back to my account, deactivated the default user account and started to install all packages and components I need.
So, at least the workaround works again ;-)
Nevertheless, I enjoy the improvements in the IDE. - Debugger improvements for Win64 are noticeable.- Code Completion works better.- Much more to mention ...Go on Embacadero. - CMake compatibility needs more attention!
Still doesn't work for me. Even from the administrator account I don't get the bds.exe file. I don't have 10.4 installed anyplace else to get the file from, so I can't try that either.
Same for me, I tried the default Administrator account in addition to my normal route of using an account that has Administratirve privileges and neither worked.
It would be great if someone (Embarcadero support or developers?) could publish a copy of bds.exe for those of us still stuffed by this broken installation process which we could use to try Andrew's workaround.
As I said earlier I'm happy to help with any testing to establish what's going wrong with this broken installation process in my case. I do hope that just because the developers can't replicate the fault they don't think it doesn't exist!
