When I unchecked "embedded designer" to use the 10.4 IDE undocked, the main toolbar does not show the menus, etc. and cannot be resized, in effect making the IDE useless. Please fix this as soon as possible.
You are not the first person to experience problems with the Undocked layout:
Yah. This is bad. Makes the IDE unusable at this point for me. So will need to abandon 10.4. Surprised there were not any beta testers that do not use embedded designer.
There is a workaround mentioned to me: switch to docked (temporarily), and put one or two (normally unused) toolbars vertically under the menu/main toolbar already there. When you switch back to undocked, you should be able to see the main toolbar now.
Works for me and seems to persist too.
I have the same problem and abandoned 10.4
Same to me even after Patch#2 - back to 10.3
Apparently, the problem has to do with the Delphi themes. Edit the registry using "Regedit" and go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Embarcadero\BDS\21.0\Theme", where you have to set the key "Enabled" to 0. This will disable your themes, but the problem will disappear.
I wonder why they launched version 10.4 without seeing this gross error. And if it was the only bug, OK, but there are other bugs that are terribly bad, for instance LSP not responding....and totally crashing the windows. It's appalling to see that.
I was told that the floating form designer is a deprecated feature, that it will be discontinued and only the embedded designer will be available in the future.
With update 10.4.1 it got much worse. I had to uninstall.
10.4.1 has it gone forever, so our version will stay 10.3.3 forever! ...no more updates!
THIS DEPRICATION IS UNACCEPTABLE!
That is because it has been removed, ...IDERA IDIOTS!!!!!
