I have a licensed version of Enterprise version of Delphi Rio 10.3.1 installed on my laptop. The license came with an offer to download a free older version. I would like to take Delphi XE2 and install that on my laptop, too. (We have older code written on that platform that I need to support and would like to be able to do it on my machine.)
Will installing it break my Rio installation?
Currently, I am logging in remotely to an old XP tower that has a licensed RAD Studio XE2 installed. What I'd REALLY like to do is take that license and install the RAD Studio XE2 on my laptop, thus giving me access to C++ Builder, too, without the remote login hassle.
Does anyone know if that RAD Studio option would break my Rio installation?
Thanks in advance.
Different RAD Studio version can be installed on the same PC. The only potential source of conflict are 3rd-party or self-written (run-time) packages that do not use proper version-specific naming. If you really get problems (unlikely) there still is the option of installing into a VM on the shared PC.
