I installed the community C++ builder and get the serial number retuned by email from Embarcadero.
But when installation is finish and launch the IDE. It asks me to register by giving the serial number even if it was done when installing.
When I put the serial number again a window tells me that “no valid License information can be found, you should give a valid serial number “, and always the same thing if I retry.
I uninstall and reinstall the IDE many times, but always the same problem. In my account on Embarcadero, I can see that I have a serial number registered with the community C++ builder.
Can you please tell if I miss something?
Someone can help please?
If you installed and uninstalled many times the serial may now be blocked. You can contact your regional office and request the install counter is reset, or, simply request another serial number by using an alternative email address.
Thank you Marko for your answer.
Below an answer from the support :
"The C++Builder Community Edition product is supported differently from the other Embarcadero products. Since these products are not eligible for update subscription the Support for these products is only available in the Community Forums, Embarcadero online documentation and the product Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)".
I don't know what to do with this reply.
What does the License Manager show?
Have you tried Update... connects to license server and checks them
Yes, when i update, it says that
no license updates were found on your system
Have you tried removeing the license and then re entering it?
Yes, many times.
It's a strange problem.
Then I would simply request a new serial number and assign that
Do you have a link to do that ? or should I use an alternative email address to do that ?
I would simply use a different email address
Ok thank you and have a nice week end.
It'a a joke this software. Always the same problems to register the C++ builder.
I tried with another email address, but no improvement, it asks me to put the serial number each time i opened it.
It seems that embarcadero doesn't give access to the community IDE :)
I waste a lot o time with this with no result, they can't make things much simple ?
Are you installing from the ISO or the Web Installer?
I would look at removing the current rad studio entirely (including Registry info, License info etc) and then try to reinstall via whatever method you did not use previously.
If you installed with the ISO, then install with the Web Installer, vice versa
