Android 64 late 2019? How do I do with my apps?
Will those who bought the C++ Builder get a refund ? There is no future there, not even a road map indicating future support for Android and MAC.
I love Delphi, and have been using it since Delphi 1.0 in 1995. But one thing that is aggravating is the mess that Code Completion is. It was kind of OK in 10.2 but now in 10.3 it just freezes (even when I am not calling it) and I have to press ESC repeatedly to gain control back. I won't even mention all the false red squiggly errors. It works fine for small projects, but it chokes on medium-size projects. I recently had to use Android Studio, and I hated the Java stuff, but the IDE was so much better, it was incredible. Please, spend some time making Code Completion and Code Insight work properly.
A issue was open on : https://quality.embarcadero.com/browse/RSP-24562
Here are cool examples of Web apps written with QT and WASM, now we can imagine Delphi FireMonkey application that compiles into WASM and running in a Web browser.https://www.qt.io/qt-examples-for-webassembly
This may stop for new developers entering, I think no one will accept to learn and develop in Pascal. Embarcadero will then have to rely on the old Delphi developers, which are about to retire. They should have skiped Pascal years ago, and focus on C++.
This could essentially be game over for Embarcadero. No Android support at all after 1. August 2019, no MAC support on C++ Builder.
WebAssembly is a very interesting technology, for sure.
I'm still waiting for Codeguard to work again!
Marco, what is your opinon about Delphi targeting WebAssembly and web development transpiling to JS?, you do not reply to those questions. I am very interested and suppose that more developers.
I will never user your CLANG C++17, C++19 or even C++25 because CLANG is 10x slower than Classic.
I agreed with you, PLUS even better if the output page can adhere to the source edit section as tabsheet.Personally I filed a quality report where the design page totally cannot scrolls up and down with mouse wheel upon the Android form created and the Embarcadero support told me the fix will not be available any soon.
Is very true in reality.Even if we can wait without renewing maintenance license until the targeted version is available, we have to pay a new license at full cost which I think Embarcadero should provide a reasonable maintenance license fees in this case.
