Great! Just lost my time...
What do you mean, lost your time? Personally, from my point of view, you've gotten an outstanding product for free, why on Earth would you complain because the company that gave it to you for free is taking good care of the paying customers whom support these great products.
She said they are having difficulties with legalities of people not using it as intended by the compliance standard, which eludes to people using it for profit instead of as intended for education and possibly open source.
If you like the product and you find value in it and are actually making money from it, Buy It!
I think Andrew want to say something like:Let's compare Delphi and MS Visual Studio. If I’m freelancer: MS cost me 0$, Delphi - 1 498,39$. If I’m working in a small team (5 people) - MS cost me 0$ for CE or 540$/year for Pro per each developer, Delphi - 1 434,8$ for Pro or 3 447,58$ for Enterprise (to be able write software for servers) per each developer. It’s not a best strategy for taking market.
I don't get where you understood that this individual is not just an hobbyist or an open source developer. I use Delphi for my hobby projects and I comply with the EUAL. And I also wasted an half an hour looking for CE for 10.4 because Idera people failed to mention that it won't be available.
Anyways, kinda disappointing since I wanted to try the new out of process code completion feature at length.
I do not believe it is true. From my point of view, Embarcedero had lost a major part of the market last decades. Yes, Delphi and C++ Builder are amazing products, but:- Delphi x86 compiler is not optimized well and it was never been.- We had major problems with HighDPI displays. Hopefully, it is done.- There are a number of free alternatives available on a market. So to grab their piece of the market back Embarcader should be very thankful for everyone, who is actively using their products. It will increase their market share place and it will bring them more paid customers later. it is Embarcadero's business model decision, but I can't understand that in full.Nevertheless, I want to say thank Embarcadero for the great product they have. I wish them the best.
