Is there a way to have the Start and End Dates default to the past 30 days to Today? I am fairly new with this product and I have been changing them manually.
Currently there is no way to do that in the product. However, we are looking to make improvements in reports and alerting in one of our releases next year and we'll take this into consideration.
It actually makes no sense and is very annoying to have to change these dates every time. How does it determine which dates to use? Thanks.
It uses a date 30 days ago up until today. I'm sorry you are frustrated. As Joy said, we are looking to make improvements with the reports and alerts next year.
Wait. Mine doesn't do that. Mine is currently using 10/20/2018 through 11/21/2018 by default every time I open a report and I end up changing both. Why isn't mine using a date 30 days ago up until today?
That does sound like odd behavior. Have you had any activity over the last few days? Maybe it starts from the last date of activity and works backward. If you have had activity, contact support and may they can help you sort through what is happening.
Yes, I have had recent activity.
If you've had recent activity, I will still state that that time window is a weird one to show up. Hopefully support can help you get that straightened out, but I've added this as a case for us to ensure there are no issues when we do get around to working on improving our report functionality.
Also, is this happening in the windows console or the web console. I know we were seeing some weird behavior with dates and reports in the web console.
Kim, so I discovered the issue with the dates. I didn't know it required closing and re-opening the application each day to refresh the dates. I guess that was my fault, but it seems like there should be some way to refresh the dates to current because I tend to leave it open on my server. Could that be an enhancement? Thanks.
That's an interesting trick that you discovered. :) Feel free to contact Support and they can file an enhancement for you. As, I stated, we hope to address some report updates in the new year. :)
Yes, it would be nice if every time a "report" was run it would pull the current date for the end date. I still should have caught that sooner.
