Hi there. Is there a way to run a script in PowerShell and it will list out all of the printers that are currently down on the print server? Often times we get calls from help desk, "hey is the print server down?", or "is such and such printer down?". I would like to have a script and pass that along to help desk to reduce the number of calls from that department for the above mentioned scenarios. Thanks.
Start with these resources.
Check if the network printer is connected (PowerShell)
This PowerShell script will list the status of network printer and whether the printer connection is connected.
Or it may be as simple as checking the printer port.
Test-NetConnection -ComputerName 'SomePrinterIPA' -Port 515
