I've been banging my head up against a wall trying to figure out what the PowerShell -Class and -Namespace is to find a predicted HDD failure on Dell Servers. I have code that shows what the health status is currently, but with all the servers we are running it gets overwhelming scrolling through the csv file. I'd rather have the script report failing and failed drives.
The code below only works on our computers and not servers. So I assume the -class and -namespace are different. Our Servers run windows 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, and 2016. In some instances I'll have to change Get-CimInstance to Get-wmiObject on the older Servers to run other scripts.
Get-CimInstance –class MSStorageDriver_FailurePredictStatus -ComputerName $s -ErrorAction Silentlycontinue -namespace root\wmi | Select InstanceName, PredictFailure, Reason
any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm using PowerCLI to check that kind of problem on my Dell and HP Servers with VMware installed.
