Is there anyway to have multiple maintenance modes for a single sql server.
I have three minor outages a month: Monthly patching, snapshot reboot and a data refresh.
As far as I can tell, the SQL Diagnostic Manager tool can only have one maintenance mode.
Anyone have a way around this issue?
SQL Diagnostic Manager only allows you to have a single schedule. What you could do is leverage the SQLDM Powershell Snapin. You could use the Set-SQLdmMonitoredInstance cmdlet to put a monitored instance into and out of maintenance mode. Once you get the cmd written correctly, you would simply have to schedule the script to be executed at the appropriate times. There was a previous post where another user needed help with a script that put his monitored instances into maintenance mode. You could start there as a guide.https://community.idera.com/database-tools/database-management/monitoring--performance/f/idera-sql-diagnostic-manager/70425/sql-dm-automation
