Profiling Failed "The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value."

Hi,

I know this has been reported numerous times before, but I feel it should be raised again.

I have attempted to profile tables on a database to evaluate this as a tool.  For each table I have tried to run a profile on, I have received the "The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value." error.

For example, I have attempted to profile a table which only contains Numeric or Varchar type data fields and I am still getting that issue.

The system specs are as follows:

  • SQL Server version: 2017, running in 2012 compatibility
  • Collation: Latin1_General_CI_AS
  • Server: Windows 2012 server
  • Server Regional Settings: English(Australia)
  • Desktop running SQL Data Profiler: Windows 10
  • Desktop Regional Settings: English(Australia)

Can you please advise if there is a fix or a work around?

Thanks
