I'm trying to transfer logins from one server (sql 2008 r2 sp2) to an other (sql 2014 sp2). after entering all the info, I click on Create script and this is what I get.
Use Master
End
What am I doing wrong?
The account you are logged in must have Administrative privileges on the Source and Target SQL Server instance. Once you confirmed that this is true. The only other recourse is to send to log file to the FreeTools team, so the problem can be diagnosed (See Sending Log Files for diagnosis). The log file can be found in the Users AppData directory in Local\Idera\SQL permissions extractor folder (See Finding the AppData folder) for help in locating the AppData folder).
I apologize for the inconvenience. For some unknown reason, the dropbox provider changed our email address. It is now "iderafreetools_49b7@sendtodropbox.com". I tested this email address one minute ago, and it works fine. And I updated the relevant "All Free Tools" forum post accordingly.
We investigated this problem further. Please refer to the forum post "Cannot copy permissions across different versions of SQL Server".
