KB: error: The term '{term}' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, , etc.

Concerning the error message “The term ‘{term}’ is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.”:

This is an error message of Microsoft PowerShell, and not an error message of IDERA PowerShell Plus.

When trying to execute Microsoft Exchange Server commands (such as Get-Mailbox) in Microsoft PowerShell, the relevant Microsoft Exchange Server cmdlets need to be enabled first.

Refer to this blog entry: “petermorrissey.blogspot.com/.../enabling-exchange-cmdlets-in-powershell.html”.

After the user installs relevant Snapins and Modules on their computer, IDERA PowerShell Plus supports automatically enabling such Snapins and Modules (via “Home > Manage> Snapins”, “Home > Manage > Modules”, or “Home > Manage > Profiles”).
