KB: How to enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 via Control Panel?

To enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 via the Control Panel:

  1. Select “Windows Desktop > Start”.
  2. In the “Start” menu, type “OptionalFeatures.exe” or “Turn Windows features on or off”, and select the “OptionalFeatures.exe” or “Turn Windows features on or off” entry.
  3. In the “Windows Feature” dialog, select the checkbox for “.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)“.
  4. Do not to select the child items for “Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) HTTP Activation” and “Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Non-HTTP Activation”.
  5. Reboot the computer when prompted.
