We are installing SQL Compliance Manager and our IT security guys will not allow us to open access to the Internet without a list of websites or IP addresses. I have searched and only can find a list of port numbers on the firewall for communication. Anyone know of a list of URLs, FQDNs and/or IP addresses that can specify the communication destinations? We tried *.idera.com, but that appears to be insufficient.
You shouldn't be required to open any ports to open the server to the internet when installing the product. Are you seeing some messaging when you are attempting to install the product that suggests that ports need to be opened?I know that there are ports that need to be opened within your network so that SQL Compliance Manager components are able to communicate with one another. But making those opened to the public internet shouldn't be required.
