Diagnostic Manager Desktop works fine (albeit, a little slow).
However, the Dashboard is unusable because it errors out (inconsistently). Sometimes the results come back on a widget (after awhile), most often it comes back with the error: Error while fetching data. Please check log for more details
If I go to the Detail View" tab, I get the error: Error The passed instance information is not valid.
Sometimes I am able to customize the Dashboard. More often than not I get an error: Oops, Looks like we are experiencing technical difficulty. Please try again in a few minutes
with the following details:
Unknown exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
Same for us: to many errors, way to slow, never used it for production.
Well, this is not encouraging. Sold functionality that doesn't work??
Put in a support ticket, yesterday. Still waiting for a response. Not happy.
Same experiences for the last 2 years. a lot of errors continuously, slow, not practible for us. I've lost hope that the product will eventually run properly. This is an indictment of Idera!
Same experience for 1 year. The SQLDM console is very very slow and unreliable. The SQLBI console gives a lot of errors continuously, is very slow, not usable for us. Will one day the product work properly? Quite disappointed
Please try to upgrade to DM 10.4 as it includes IDERA Dashboard performance improvements and a new version of the framework. Tech Support can assist with upgrade or registration to the updated IDERA Dashboard
Thank you for your reply. I upgraded to 10.4 successfully. It is even slower than the previous version 1.2 and some screens like the query list give an error. And the sqldmDesktopClient.exe uses more than 6GB. I will contact support
I would concur with this statement the dashboard is for us unusable at this point as is SIM, since the last upgrade in March of 2019. I have gone round and round with tech support and the development staff but no one can make it work. SQL Safe last upgrade was down from a console standpoint for a week and DM was down for about a month before the issues were figured out and we were provided work arounds for DM and Safe to at least get us back up and running with the workstation clients. DM & Safe web clients have never worked in our environments and it frustrates me to no end as Idera has taken functionality out to the workstation client and moved to the web ONLY or come up with new features that are web ONLY.
I have been working with tech support on these issues for month and the dashboard and SIM simply put do not work., beyond frustrated
