This started happening a week or so ago. I have submitted a support ticket but haven't gotten anything resolved yet. When I logon to SQLdm mobile, I am getting the error below. Has anyone seen this? Thanks
Duplicate name (Servername) in directory cache.
I am also seeing this message for a colleague of mine. I've removed the user from the Newsfeed platform manager, restarted IIS, restarted the newsfeed service, and ran the moblie grooming process without any luck. I'll also be opening a support case.
Good luck with that. All support wants to do these days is give you instructions based on a canned template. They want me to uninstall and reinstall the Newsfeed and web piece. I think Idera has outsourced their support and it's going to cost them a lot of customers.
And I also should say that this ticket has gone unresolved for me for about 3 weeks. It is very frustrating. It takes days to correspond back and forth with them whereas it would take about 15 minutes if someone would just remote into our machine and help us out!
It may take an update to your groom settings in order to get that specific user removed. I don't recall the setting off the top of my head but you should be able to update the groom settings using the Newsfeed Platform Manager. I would probably set it to 1 day, then wait a day before running the grooming operation. At that point, try to see if you can log back into the product.
Hi Tep. I think the confusion on my end is that support wants to see what is in database SQLdmMobileRepository and I don't have that db on my server. I do have the IderaNewsRepository and SQLdmRespository, and SQLmmRepository. I uninstalled both the NewsFeed service from my server that hosts SQLdm and services, and I also uninstalled the Web piece from our web server but when I reinstalled the Newsfeed service it doesn't create the database SQLdmMobileRepository.
I just changed the setting "Groom activity after" to 1 day. Should I also set "Groom deleted objects after" to 1 day?
As you can see this has been very frustrating getting this to work, especially after it had been working from the web until I received the error message. That was a few weeks ago. It should not take this long to get issues like this resolved and I don't have this much time to spend troubleshooting a diagnostics application.
It's possible that you renamed the database to SQLmmRepository when you initially installed the product. You should be able to confirm if that's the database that SQLdm Mobile is using from the Idera Newsfeed Platform Manager. When you launch it, go to the Repository tab and you should be able to confirm the repository database name.I would configure both groom options to 1 day, then wait a day before manually running the grooming operation (there should be a SQL Server Agent job that's specific to the mobile/newsfeed repository).
When I go the Repository tab under the Idera Newsfeed Platform Manager, it says the database is IderaNewsRepository. The only registered application with the Idera Newsfeed is SQL diagnostic manager. Also, I had an older server that originally had the SQLdm Mobile & Newsfeed service running on it. I went back to that server and the service will not uninstall. I may have to try to uninstall it manually somehow.
So I couldn't uninstall the Newsfeed service on the Original server from 2 years ago so it is shut down. I checked the RepositoryInfo / PulseService and it is pointing to the correct server (IderaVM64x). I uninstalled and reinstalled the Newsfeed service from both this server and our web server. And now it is telling me that the Newsfeed Service is unavailable.
It looks like it is telling me it is unavailable because when I install the web component as described in the instructions below, it doesn't seem to connect to the Service that is installed on the SQL Diagnostics Manager machine.
We recommend installing the SQLdm Mobile Web components on your corporate Web Server. Ensure your Web Server meets the software and port requirements.
