Good references for (re)learning Visual Basic?

The documentation refers to using a reference about Visual Basic but doesn't give specifics or any details about what version. It's not even clear to me if the environment is closer to VBA, VB.COM, or VB.NET. Does anyone have recommendations?

  • The environment is closer to VBA, like the Excel environment.  In ER Studio, there are 2 documents under the Help menu - one that describes the object model for all ER Studio objects (Automation Interface Reference) that can be accessed in macros, and the other for the Visual Basic syntax (WinWrap Basic Help).

There are many sample macros delivered with ER Studio that you can look at to begin to understand how to code macros.  You may also want to check YouTube, I believe Idera may have a couple of introductory videos posted there.
