Displaying columns in SQL Server database views

I just completed a reverse engineering in a SQL Server 2016 database and my views are not showing the columns.  I am guessing it is a simple setting (hoping) but I can't seem to find it.  I thought I had checked everything under Tools/Options under View and Display but I must have missed something.  Could someone point out what I am missing?  Thanks.

  • Hi,

You're not missing anything.  Some of the more complicated views don't get parsed properly so they are displayed as invalid view.  Sometimes if you open up the view and try to validate it, then it validates properly because of a dependent view.  If there's a few views like this you can create a macro to go through all the views and validate it.  You may have to do this a few times but that may help get the display to work for some of those views.
