Restart IIS when a different server has high CPU

Hi

I support the database of a web application that will cause the CPU on my database server to spike.  The quick resolution is to restart IIS on the web server.

Does anyone know how I could get Diagnostic Manager to trigger an IIS restart on the web server when the database server goes critical with high CPU?

Thanks!

  • This isn't something that I've done before, but you should be able to configure an alert response to run 'iisreset' on the target server. At one point in time, I was able to configure an alert response to run a 'sc.exe' command to restart a service using 'xp_cmdshell'.
