I support the database of a web application that will cause the CPU on my database server to spike. The quick resolution is to restart IIS on the web server.
Does anyone know how I could get Diagnostic Manager to trigger an IIS restart on the web server when the database server goes critical with high CPU?
This isn't something that I've done before, but you should be able to configure an alert response to run 'iisreset' on the target server. At one point in time, I was able to configure an alert response to run a 'sc.exe' command to restart a service using 'xp_cmdshell'.
