What's New in SQL Defrag Manager?

  • Support for SQL Server 2017
SQL Defrag Manager 3.5 includes support for Microsoft SQL Server 2017, the most recent release of Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server 2017 running on either a Windows or Linux operating systems will be manageable by this release. SQL Server database administrators will be able to continue using SQL Defrag Manager to manage indexes throughout their evolving environment.
  • Product compatibility with TLS 1.2 to support updated security and PCI requirements
TLS stands for Transport Layer Security and it is the cryptographic protocol that is used when connecting to a server securely. TLS v1.0 is no longer considered secure by industry standards and has gradually been discontinued across various environments. As such, SQL Defrag Manager now supports TLS 1.2, the latest version of TLS.

  • Ability to view a table’s schema
When creating and/or editing an Automation Policy, users will now be able to view the table’s schema, allowing users to learn more about the table.

  • Added a new option to rediscover server objects
This addition helps ensure that SQL Defrag Manager has the most recent list of objects on the target instance when running an Automation Policy. This addition will be helpful for environments where the list of objects is frequently changing.

  • Added a user configurable option to specify the max number of activities to display in the Recent Activity pane
By default, SQL Defrag Manager displays the most recent 1,000 activities in the Recent Activity pane. This user configuration option will allow users to define the number of recent activities to display in the Recent Activity pane.
